The name of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is of key importance in the creation of Pakistan's nuclear program.
Abdul Qadeer Khan was born on April 27, 1936 in Bhopal, United India.
After the partition of the subcontinent, he migrated with his family to Pakistan in 1947.
He went to Europe for higher education and stayed there for 15 years.
In 1976, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan founded Engineering Research Laboratories in Pakistan.
His name was changed to Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan.
It is a major player in uranium enrichment in Pakistan.
He was the head of Pakistan's nuclear program for a long time.
The government of Pakistan has also given him awards like Nishan Imtiaz and Hilal Imtiaz.
Dr. AQ Khan was nominated by General Pervez Musharraf as his advisor.
At the same time, however, he admitted to selling nuclear secrets to other countries on state TV.
He was placed under house arrest in 2004.
When asked why he was accused of "transferring" nuclear technology, he said:
"If you put it on one man, the country will be saved".
"If you put it on one man, the country will be saved".
His detention ended in 2009.
Many national leaders, including the Prime Minister, expressed grief over the death of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.
Funeral prayers of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan were offered in the premises of Faisal Mosque.
After which he was buried with state honors.
